Christopher Wise is an author, translator, and professor.  He has taught at Western Washington University since 1996. He was a Fulbright Professor at the Université de Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso (1996-97) and the University of Jordan, Amman (2001-2003). Wise was born in Enid, Oklahoma in 1961 and is a citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation. He grew up in Oklahoma and Southern California.He studied at North-western College in Iowa (B.A. 1984) and did graduate work at the University of Oklahoma (MA 1986) and the University of California, Riverside (Ph.D. 1992).
